Youth Sport Development Movement of Nigeria, Ogbomoso is a group of youths who believe in youth’s empowerment through sport activities. Through introduction of sport, we realize that most youths are ready to defy some of the challenges prevailing in the world today such as unemployment and economic hardship, which has reduced them to the level of desperation. Most of the youth have given up hopes and have buried their talents and indulge in activities such as drug abuse, prostitution, gangsterism and banditry. It can therefore not be argued that idleness breeds crime and other numerous malpractices that can only lead to the destruction of individuals and their communities. In a Nigerians context, there are numerous challenges still predominant in most of its states and townships such as Ogbomoso and other towns in Oyo state. This is because the desire and zeal to conquer and be number one has unfortunately not been matched with opportunities and facilities to nurture their skills and talents.
We believe that young people are rough diamond in the gutter whom if well-polished shall shine for the whole of humanity, so we encourage and involved the youth in sport activities that add values and have positive impacts on them, to achieve success, we aim to invest in youths which entails building a solid foundation for future leaders by maximizing their potentials. We have come to realize that in partnership with the individual person and private organization as well as communities stakeholders, so that young people can be given a chance of making it in life through sports.
